Puma 2.2 overheated, won't turn over

Hi, a friend of mine has a 110 csw with a Puma 2.2 engine. It overheated the other day and now it won't turn over. It's like the ignition is locked out by the ECU to stop the engine from being damaged. The battery is in good shape, tested and charged.
Does anyone know how to reset it or what needs to be done?

Spanner on crank and see if you can turn it, how far did you drive it before you noticed it overheating?

If the battery has been disconnected, the key fob needs to be re-synchronised with the vehicle after the battery has been re-connected.
