So we had a couple of big downpours here in Yorkshire today. On driving home from work through one of them and so pretty big puddles power steering went and alternator light came on no squealing though.I have the belts pretty tight. Do they need to be tighter to stop this or is there some shield missing to prevent this prob.
Cheers

Could be the belt is glazed over (very shinny) Don't over tighten. Might think about replacing the belt, or get a can of belt dressing for a sort term fix
