right changed the power steering box on my 200 a while back, unit was identical apart from the arm that was on the replacement unit,
the arm was was fitted appeard to relay on the fact that the ball joint was on the steering rod yet my arm has the ball joint on it,
i changed them over but my arm appears to sit lower, by how much i dont know but i knows it closer the to steering guard than what the other arm sat.
if anyone has done this proceedure, do you think there is a possability that i havnt tightend the arm up enough and there is still some space left between the arm and the box to slide it up the splines some more???

also while i am here my steering rod behind the axle when on full lock is bendin??? yet the other lr's i have here dont, do you think that i may have fractured it and it need changing?? also any rough ideas how much a set or reinforced ones are??

thanks in advance chaps, i know its a long one......:D

reet, update! the swap was the same as you buster.

i changed the drop arm while it was off the car and couldnt torque it up well as i was working on the deck.

used the long arm on it earlier while the box was all bolted up to the chassis and got about another turn on it using the force of my leg and sitting on the deck. 17stone and cycling legs should be sufficent ebough me thinks.

its picked the drop arm up a touch but still not as much.

gonne check it with the torque bar tomoz as i lent it out to double check with the mentioned setting and if thats right then i will presume that i didnt use the car so therefore didnt know the steering was catching the guard from the impact i had during a pay and play as it has not been used since being brought home on my recovery truck.

new steering guard for me then if this proves true.

one thing to mention though buster, the gap between the drop arm and the box is not as much as what you had before removal.

the gap on mine is quite big compared to the one on the other bus Raz, dunno if it's got summit to do with bein' different boxes. The green one is a 6 bolt and the white one a 4 bolt, maybe the shafts are slighty diffrent.

could be a possability. feck it, its now working and its on tight, ill just replace the guard. just gotta try to loosen the slack in the box as the steering doesnt like to return on exiting the bend.
