), so I thought I would post a couple of my Ninety's dash as it has just had a few jobs done on it. Sorry the pics aren't bigger, I still haven't figured out how to do that.
I removed a large bunch of wiring from in the dash a couple of weeks ago that some home-electrician had put in when doing a half-assed stereo installation. I also removed the hopeless speakers from the back of the vehicle and the tweeters that were velcroed to the top of the dash, as well as the speaker wiring that was strung through the vehicle.
I took the Ninety to the autoelectrician today to get a tachometer installed and to properly tidy the remaining dash wiring, and to replace the instrument cowl/gauge surround which was badly cracked in several places (I got a new one sent from the UK along with stainless surround).
I am very pleased with the result, and my Ninety now has some of the tidiest dash wiring of any pre-2007 Defender I have seen
I also remembered a plastic cover (see picture below) that I found behind one of the seats when I bought the vehicle. I had wondered if it was a cover for the dash wiring, but it never seemed to fit. Now that all the wiring has been tidied, I can see that it will, so that should help improve things further.
