Passenger Airbag.

Hi,
I have a 2000 X reg Freelander TD4S Auto which hasn"t got a Passenger airbag. Why I don"t know! I thought all relatively modern cars had them fitted as standard.
My Question is= Can I get a Passenger Air-bag fitted? and if so, is it a job my local garage could carry out?

My best answer is google "rave Freelander download" it will give you a workshop manual with wiring diagrams.
It may be a case that the wire (normally orange sheathed) is there and the air bag may just need fitting and air bag ecu setting changed.

Or

it may have a completely different controller and loom and sensors

Either way the workshop manual should show differences
