P38A Parking restrictions

Hi all I have p38 struggling to find parking would my range fit in underground car park which has a height restriction of 1.75m

I'll measure tomorrow but I think you should be OK with the suspension locked at motorway height.

That's 5foot9inches, i think you'll struggle with a p38

Think I'd struggle with that height.

you would have to use 'passenger access' mode, not sure if you have it on a P38. We have to use it most times on our L322 because the ride has been jacked up with a lift kit by 7.5 cms

Sounds like they may be BSing the height there, else most blokes wouldnt be able to walk through

The max height is often due to transitions at ramps, a man doesn't have have that problem, Having the front wheels on the flat and the rear up on the ramp may bring the roof too close to the ceiling.
Locking your ride height down you may have the problem of grounding when going over some ramps..

I've a 1984 110, height over 2metres, underground or overground multistorey carparks... Just forget it..

I measured one P38 today, 1.83metres at wade height, 1.73 metres at motorway height, given the variation from car to car, that is a bit tight. I didn't measure access but it would clear no problem, The difficulty is making the car stay at access height, too risky IMO.

Isn't that what the manual button is for? Just don't go fast

It is indeed but go just a little bit too fast and up it goes. all too easy to get it wrong.

But after lowering you use the suspension lock button... It can be a bit uncomfortable going over the little ramps on bump stops is all

Mine still rises from acces with the lock button on.

Same as mine there Keith, I believe it is designed in to prevent grounding, access is purely what is says on the box, getting in and out. In my opinion I deffo would not take the risk m'self

Once went to the traford center in Manchester in the works van. Van was fully loaded with units so went in carpark no problem, on the way out though. Hit all the height barriers with the roofrack

Fair enough - i might have been imagining it/ going slow enough around the multi storey car park that it did not rise... I will be more careful next time : o)

Had that issue with mine in an underground carpark, it didn't rise but then again I didn't go over 10mph..

My issue was the concussion I got when i got out and stood up

I think that's the key. Keep it slow. Sure I have used it to go under things in the past.
