Painting a 90 fuel tank?

I just slapped mine on and it gets a dose of chassis wax every year or two, been on there 3 or 4 yrs now with no rust that Ive noticed.

What did you guys use? Its new and in that black primer they come in.

Issue with these is painting the usually unpainted metal between the tank & cradle.

I ended up sealing mine all the way round and then filling the void with Dinitrol before finally sealing the gap where I sprayed it in. I then painted the whole tank.

Make sure its clean first, then I spray on several coats of hammerite - easy. If you fit extended front mudflaps (i.e. extended up into the wing) you will find that much less crap gets flung onto the tank and it needs less attention over the years.

I had some left over 2 pack epoxy chassis paint so I used that. Then sprayed with hammerite with waxoil (this stuff is actually pretty **** but I had a few cans so thought I’d use it up)
