Any advice on stripping the paint off a second hand lift kit I got, before respraying them?

They're a bit flaky and a little surface rust, but underneath they are sound. The electric drill wire brush did a great job on the shocks, but the springs are a bit more fiddly! Nitromors was doing quite a good job, but just wondering if anyone's got any 'quick and dirty' ways of stripping them?

years ago you could buy a product we used to use on bare metal prior to painting called deoxidene 124....when metal was submerged in it and left it would strip everything off even chrome plating:D

That'll be back in the days before legislation took over and all that crap... Proper stuff, good quality burn-your-hands-off-acid, that's what the world needs for stripping paint!
