guys been offered a 2.5 td mreg p38 for what i was thinking a good price.
its got 147,000 on clock and has failed the mot due to the air suspension not working.
i have been told you can get a seal kit from ebay Range Rover P38 EAS Air Suspension Compressor Pump Seal on eBay, also, Range Rover, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 08-Aug-08 15:32:39 BST)
is it always the seals or would the seal's be leaking to be this fault?
i know you can have a few conversion's one the coil spring and the other the tyre valve fitted to to air pumpp and manually inflate the air bag's?
anyone know how much i should pay for either?
also am i right in saying i should be looking @ 30mpg? also how much to fill the tank?
 
could be loads of reasons for the suspension to fail diagnostic is the best step forward only change to coil as a last resort the tyre valve kit is only a temporary measure to get you home ,mine does between 26and 28 local but is chipped before it was doing 22 to 23 and to fill the tank you dont want to know (90 litres)as per failing the MOT i am a tester and as long as it is not sitting on the bump stops it cant be failed the function of the rise and fall is not part of the test ,hope this helps a little

how much is it to have it chipped? much more mpg on long run's?
ok sound well all i can see is it wont adjust and its been inflated using a tyre inflator.
 
i paid £200 to get it chipped sounds expensive against fuel savings(30 on a run ) but what a difference the car is .if the car is sitting alright at normal ride hieght then the bags should be ok,can you hear the pump start up/is it sucking any air in through the front intake(unscrew the filter and put your finger over the hole)only way to see if any air coming out is to undo one of the pipes wich will let the susp down are the four susp lights flashing when started or any messages on control centre check alternator for charging as i said earlier there is lots of things that will stop susp from working good luck
