Hi All,

Hearing about Suspension an Overheating problems I would like to know what to look out for and can I prevent any problems before damage occurs?

Where should the temp gauge needle sit ?

My 95 4.6 HSE arrived today after my wife and friend scoured the area to find one for me while I have been laid up.
It looks great and drives well, quiet and smooth and I would like to keep it that way. The car has always been serviced my the same main LR dealer up to the last full service (NOV) 49k.

Your advice would be a great help.

Cheers

Fred

A fraction less than half way seems to be the norm.

What do you think of it now you have it? Is it one you would have picked yourself, or is it a shed, but you don't want to hurt the wife and friend's feelings? :) 49k seems good for a 95

Hi Mud Flap,
Mine sits at about half way, should I start to be worried? It does not seem to move from there.

Great car I love it
Very pleased with their choice, They let me drive it for a whole 12 miles yesterday before Nicky wanted to try out the cruise control.
Bodywork seems very good for the age with only a couple of stone chips, engine bay looks very clean and cared for, even the warning stickers are
bright and clean.
As stated in the paperwork, all items listed on the last service list had been replaced, filters and oil clear etc. ( Nov last year )
She drives well, quiet and smooth and responsive with a little wheel wobble over 65mph, the mountings are noisy on the suspension pump but apart from that she seems great and I am very pleased with their choice.
Way better than anything I looked at.
Now while tinkering with the odd rattle and getting familiar with her I will save up for the inevitable looming problem.
Nicky seems a bit too keen on driving her, should I be worried?

Cheers

Halfway or just slightly under is the norm for these. Sounds to me as though yours is running just right, such low mileage too, a rweal find. Will you post a pic at some point?

Hi
The temp on my 96 4.6 sits just a fraction above the half way line, this has been the same since i have owned it, and now it has a new engine it is still in the same place. It has sat in traffic without moving for over an hour, so i wouldnt worry with yours.
Hope this helps
Mark

Thank's guys
I'm probably a bit over worried
I will take some pictures and post them on a new thread.
Cheers
