P38 keyfob / locking,unlocking problems

Good day, I have the same problem.
Changed the batteries and this is not it. My FOB key stopped working. Cannot open or close the doors, thus I get the "engine disabled" error message on the dashboard and cannot start the engine !
I cannot find in my vehicles papers the 4 digit security code.
What I would like to know is if :
- I can buy a new fob key set on ebay and keep my own board inside ?
and
- How can I get my security code ?

I live in the Caribbean island of Dominica so I have no Land Rover dealer or shop around !

Is there any way to disconnect the security features ?

Mr sporty on e.bay fob repair service repaired my non working fob that i got with the car that never worked , now working perfectly can recomend him, think couple of others on here have since used him and had same sucess as me.

You could try the generic 1515 North American EKA code, otherwise contact a dealer with your vehicle details and get it.
Your FOB may not be the problem, it could be the RF receiver in the car at fault.

+1 on Mrsporty fixed my broken fob..... and +1 on the generic 1515 code otherwise you will have to contact the manufacturer

When you resynch you need to do it properly. You need to put key in lock in central position then push and hold lock button and turn to lock position holding button back to central position release button. You then need to also hold unlock button hold it in turn key to unlock position keeping hold back to centre then let go. Then take key out the. Press the remote lock button it should lock. If all doors lock no problem if only done lock then suspect door locks if it doesn't work then suspect rf receiver

How much are new fobs, and how do I sync them with the car?

hi all .same sort of story drove in to town tonight locked car with remote came back wouldnt unlock one door had been taken off locking system so able to get in alarm going off then stoped now cant start engine any ideas im going to be clamped if i cant start it i was given a code for alarm and locks but its 5 digits not 4 please help

If the first of the 5 digits is 4, that is to tell the system that you are about to enter the code. So, 4 times to the left and you should see the indicators flash to let you know that it is ready for the 4 figure code.

Have just sent a fob to Mrsporty that had spent the whole British winter lost in a horse paddock. Fingers crossed.
