Hi There i bought a P38, not so long ago for weekend use.
the battery was flat and have charged it, not my display has KEYCODE LOCKOUT and i cant clear it any ideas? its a 1995 p38 4.0
I have tried turning the key in the door lock to the left with the lock button on the remote pressed for 5 seconds and it does nothing. Help please

Hi there unfortunatly this was not supplied when i bought the car, the only docs i have is the service book and old mot's, i see that there is a code 1515 which might work, when i reconected the battery should i wait 10mins before attempting code?

John, have you got the owners handbook? If so it will tell you how to enter the code.

If not, on my 1995 4.6 I do not have to do the first part of the EKA code entry as required on later P38's (turn the key to the left four times, then enter the EKA code - I think it goes). You just enter the EKA code.

Steve

Have you tried the 1515 code yet?

1515 is an urban myth. Phone a dealer up with your VIN and ask for the EKA and radio code. If the dealer won't give them to you, phone another dealer. Some are helpful, others are a waste of time !! I have never been asked to pay for the information, it's F.O.C. Ask to be put through to the Service Dept. It's on the LR database.

Oh! the 1515 is supposed to be some sort of default? I didn't know that - do now!

The EKA is programmed into the Becm.
If the EKA function is enabled (Usually is) then the code you enter with the key MUST match.
Repeatedly entering the wrong code could cause the Becm to go into "Alarmed" and "Lockout" status, thus immobilising the car completely.

Thanks all for your help just been to rocar in huddersfield who supplied the EKA code free of charge, all i needed was my V5 and i'd
so i'll try the code tonight and fingers crossed it works

Good Luck.
It's not a race against the clock when you enter the EKA. Just be deliberate with each move, pausing for a split second at the mid position before entering the next turn.
