p38 heating problem

Hi
when the rangey is moving the heating works , when the rangey is stopped in traffic it stops working

any ideas??

So when the engine is idling, there is not enough flow to feed the heater matrix? Try holding the revs up and see if you get heat. You don't say petrol or diesel or where the temperature guage sits, but I would go for the water pump or stat stuck open.
