p38 gear oil

hi range rover fans. i am new to the range rover sean it is my first rangie, p38 dhse autobiography with the bmw 2.5 diesel auto.sorry if u have been asked this question befor but is there a certain make or brand of gear box oil i need to use or is any ATF ok . and dose any body know where i could get the gear box oil cooler pipes from.

i can not believe there is no body on hear that can advise me on the gear box oil a fat lot of use it was joining this site

The brand of ATF is not important, as long as it is ATF Dexron II.

The gearbox oil cooler hoses could of course be sourced from a dealer, or I would suggest a hydraulic hoses supplier like Opirtek, they'd need details or the the original hoses/pipes to work from.

Why do you need new pipes anyway, if that's not asking the obvious?

thanks for the info ianmjdun got some dextron changed the oil every thing working ok. i was abit worried about changing the oil in case the box started to play up boot everything ok. the original box cooling pipes where seaping got some new ones from a company in the south.
