P38 Discs And Key Problem

Hi, I have been trying to get the old front discs off my p38, have done the hammering bit but they just won't budge, anyone have any good ideas? Also went to lock the car with the remote and it won't lock, on the dash it says key in ingnition but the key is in my hand, any ideas on this one. I know all about the engine dissabled thing but have not heard of this one before.

Paul,

I had the "key in the lock" thing. There is a microswitch in the ignition switch barrel which goes wonky. I needed a new barrel mechanism.

As for your brake discs......BIGGER HAMMER!

Try putting some heat into them, a plumbers blow torch will do, but the bigger the better.

at the risk of stating the obvious - I take it you have removed the retaining screws? - they are often hiden by Sh1

Thanks everyone, all done now, blow torch, huge copper hammer and LOTS of grunt.
