Hi all, Just finished putting p38 back together and took it for a run, First drive in it as i bought it supposedly needing just a slave cylinder, What it really needed was a slave cylinder, master cylinder, master cyl to slave cyl pipe, and cross shaft pins. Only paid a grand but its on the road now. Now 2nd gear feels a little noisy and it crunches going into 2nd, I plan a gearbox oil change tomorrow but am a little confused, I have searched lots of places to find out what type of oil to put in the manual gearbox, Its a 2.5 diesel.
Some threads say put atf in the gearbox, others say put ep90 in it, Others say put atf in the transfer box....?
Can somebody kindly tell me the right fluids for each box ... Greatly appreciated. Nick.

Suggest you go by the book:Texaco MTF94 in g-box, ATF Dextron III in transfer box. They do seem thin compared to conventional g-box oils, but trust the makers here!

^^^^^^ also see the advice in Ashcroft Transmissions

Do NOT use EP in either the main box or the BW transfer box. It is too thick, will not lubricate the box and will damage the boxes in fairly short order.

Depends how much you rate your car I guess as to how much you want to spend.

My gearbox was a little difficult to get in to gears when cold, so I used this Difflock Evo 1 and now its very smooth indeed hot or cold.
