p38 2.5 diesel 1995 cheap oil filter fooks up!

yes i know alarm bells should of rung £3.95 for an oil filter, but never the less fitted it and it failed the two rubber ends ended up at the bottom of the filter,lasted about 6 miles,changed filter for a better one,but battery is flat so will have to wait and see if it has done any damage,that is why i had top end rattle,and it made the engine noisier,shall have to install an oil pressure gauge much better than just a light at least you get to see what is going on, hopefully this filter did not cause a drop in oil pressure,the rubber seals look intact so hopefully no bits have gone through the engine.
lesson learned, will be phoning supplier on monday just to inform them of this failure don't want a refund,just to make them aware.
