truck has a clean bill of health at present, hot start fixed with no bodges,it was the leak off pipes and also fuel running back to the tank, fitted a one way valve off a peugeot 306 and problem solved,
air leak on air suspension solved,
new compressor, and a new air pipe.
i need to touch some wood now.
hope it stays that way for a while, they ain't cheap to put right.
but all in all i would not be without it!

If you think the P38 is expensive, you should look at parts prices for Jap stuff or even for my Transit where the oil filter is twice the price of a P38.

well not really expensive i suppose,it is a 15 year old vehicle, surviving where lesser vehicles have given up,most of the troubles are age related,so can't really complain.

Most of the troubles are Land Rover crap quality related not age, 100K miles is nothing nor should 15 years be regarded as old. My wifes Renault 11 is 26 years old, apart from hoses and other consumables it is original. My MR2 is 25 years old the only abnormal replacements have been the window regulators. All the steering and suspension components are original on both cars. My last Volvo 960 had 300K on it when I sold it, again hoses replaced and a fuel pump relay, nothing else. The P38 is a great car just diminished by the bean counters:mad:
