Hi everyone

Am a new member of the landy world and have just bought myself a lovely Defender 90 - 90k miles - 1990 - heritage recreation project. On the trip home (35 miles) the landy overheated 4 times and is now sitting on my drive. After topping up the coolant there are no visible leaks, fan appears to be working fine so i am thinking the coolant pump may be the issue - all local garages are booked up until early Oct - does anyone know anyone who could come and check coolant system / fit a new pump at my house? Woking in Surrey.
Thanks all

These are not that hard for the basic mechanic to do. About 5hrs with tea breaks even less if there is no radiator cowl.

Was this a private sale? Only asking if from a garage they should sort it out under a warranty ?

what engine ?

thanks

Hi
Was a private sale - MOT passed only July 22 - no warranty - is 2.5l TD engine - know anyone?

It might be worth contacting a local Landy club to see if they can recommend anyone. South London and Surrey LRC and Thames Valley 4x4 club from memory are two quite local. Otherwise try Hants and Berks LRC.
