Hi all, in desperate need of help please, after a road trip my youngest left the back reading light on, this drained the battery. I got the battery recharged and all was fine until the middle of the night and the battery had drained again, got the hdc and air sus inactive code. Bought a new battery thinking it was a weak one but once again it drained the battery. I don't know what is causing this so I'm asking for any advice or things to check please. It is a 05 3ltr diesel overfinch RR
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the madhouse. Did you fully charge the new battery before fitting it? If not it may have been less than half charged before fitting so would soon discharge.

Good idea to check the voltage as the new battery could have been on the shelf for a while prior to your purchase. Some outlets check the state of charge at purchase, but not always.
Fully charged it should show at least 12.70 volts.

nb. once charged don't check the voltage for at least an hour.

Hi, and thanks for your reply and yep it is a madhouse lol, no I didn't charge it as I took it for granted as fully charged as the battery check on the battery was green. I will take it off and charge it again.
