Good evening,

Does enybody know what model Optima battery i would need for my 96 Discovery. I alredy have a Excide Maxxima as an auxiliary battery set up with a National Luna split charge system.
My standard starter battery is knackered so its time to replace it with something good.
I want a dedicated starter battery, not a starter/deep cycle battery.

Yes, they have, but there model list only goes back to 1999 and they only list a range rover.

Don't buy Optima then they're overpriced crap that don't do anything a normal battery won't do. In fact it's usually the case that they do far less an last half as long as a normal lead acid battery.

There is a thread somewhere with an email from Optima which basically states that their batteries aren't suitable for the conditions encountered by 4x4's :confused: :confused:
 
Optima are expensive cos they have high advertising costs to make people think they're good, not cos they're good. You can get better for about half the price if you forefeit the name and the garish colour.
