I'm part way through switching my front springs for Arnott's, but having fitted the first one, the pump has given up altogether and I daren't let it off the jack with no pressure in it for fear of damaging the new bag. I'm sure I already know the answer but just want to double check that there's no way of bypassing the pump's thermostat without dismantling it? I've got a new pump due in next couple of days but I just wanna get on and finish the job.

If you have an air supply available put just diconnect relivent line from valve block with it connected to bag and put some air in bag whilst lowering jack. Or if you have no airline get one of those cheap 12 volt compressors and use that to do it.
