morning all

still having problems with my 4.6 since the piston in the compressor snapped. i bought a new compressor and was fine for about a week, then wouldnt come off the bump stops. called LR and they replaced it, fitted it and was fine for 2/3 weeks. then same old wouldnt come off bump stops?? LR wont replace the compressor again as there saying its not a fault with it. i replace the bags and checked for leaks everywhere and couldnt find a thing. used wammers how to and bridged the relay and the pump comes on fine. bought a new relay and prayed that would be it  however its not! for some reason when leaving the door open and leaving it to run for 10 mins the compressor doesnt ingage at all. really at a loose end  any help would be greatly appreciated

If the compressor is feeding a leak and running all the time or the diaphragm is leaking it may well have blown the thermal cut out. Look at my "How to" for how to check for that. How do Land Rover know there is no fault on the compressor have they checked it did they also check the EAS system for other faults?

LR said i have had 2 new ones, and due to the compressor not engaging when it should then its not a problem with the compressor so they wont replace it. i will go thru your "how to" check the thermal cut out. but i had the system checked twice and it shows up no faults

For peace of mind do the checks on the compressor yourself.
If you can prove it had failed again the question is why have LR fitted another compressor and not found a fault as two why two supposedly new units have failed.

No function of the compressor circuit including the thermal cut out will directly show up on diagnostics. Typically none function and no faults means no air.
