Yesterday I visited a Jag breakers yard and got a pair of the correct carbs
for Percy my Jag powered IIa. Having learned my tinkering lessons a long
time ago I gave them a quick swill off with the appropriate cleaner and left
them on the shelf untouched and unmessed with.
Today after doing the Saturday shopping trip I threw the Carbs onto Percy.
Modifired all the pipe work accordingly and resigned myself to the fact that
the AED fitted to Jag carbs would be busted. I piped it up such that I can
clamp off the AED with some brake pipe clamps.
I borrowed one of Morphs new batteries.
I inserted the key.. heard the pump noted change to let me know the floats
chambers were full.
I checked for leaks then fired Percy up.
And then it happened.... that momement..the one where you ask yourself why
didn't I do this two years ago insteady of playing with underpowered
Carbs... I tickled the throttle... scared myself to the point I daren't work
under the bonnet with the engine running. Turned him off and walked away to
learn some more respect, and to change my pants.
Just need to find the correct aftermarket AED modification kit now.
