I left the UK in 2005, choosing to reside in Morocco... for eight years. The Arab Spring, and the local Maroc'n aggressive (anti-Infidel) behaviour, persuaded myself and my partner (now my wife) to leave that country to live in Spain instead. We had many great times in Morocco, discovering and studying the geology, but when we received insults with human-excrement thrown at our front door (the RAF - as part of NATO - were dropping bombs on Libya & I'm ex-RAF) we decided to move... PRONTO! It was a great decision. So now we can move freely around Europe as we please, without the hassle of Maroc Police Check-points & Speed Cameras every few miles.
Be thankful you live in a civilised country, should you read this outside a Muslim country.
We had a Toyota RAV4 in Morocco, a car that pulled us across deserts, mountains & riverbeds, plus a whole lot more. However, the Land Rover Stable is superior to what we had then and I am proud to not only own one but also to drive it. It's history is massive and impressive, and it too can take me across tundra and desert with ease. I love my 3xdoor Freelander, one of the last 3 door versions to be made, I believe, which is why I bought it. I love British, which is why my last motorcycle was a Triumph Legend TT. I have owned and restored many a BSA too. British is best, even if it does have a BMW engine. German autos are my next favourites.
Oh, I write books too. My BSA & Triumph bikes feature in them and I'm guessing my Freelander might make an entrance as well - somehow, in my next novel.
See... An Alien Affair, An Alien Rescue, An Alien Warning, and... An Alien Adventure. All Sci-Fi and available as Ebooks, which I believe is the future of reading.
