yeah its a n/a took the lid off the filter box and was full of oil the filter was black drippin in oil like yer had soaked it over night. looking in the breather pipe off the oil filler , which is drippin oil, the hose to the manifold had less in like it had been sucked thru.

My crankcase breather enters the airbox before the panel filter, so in my case I would get a durdy filter, not sure if it is the same for LRs

nah on the NA the breather is connected to the manifold, literally a few inches away from the valves. This is why i don't see how it can get to the filter, unless it is pouring out!

What do you drive heffalump?

that indicates either oil getting sucked in from a leak somewhere in the engine bay , or its chucking it from the inside out through the filter = chronic engine failure?.

i suppose so, sucking it in from the engine bay would have to be a hell of a leak, and surely if its blasting that much oil everywhere it would struggle to run anyway? Although he did say it smokes a lot.

willl leave the breather pipe off for a week or so and see how much oil is spat out. have put a new filter in so can see how long it stays "dry". got to agree that any oil shot from the breather if it breaths heavy will be sucked in to the manifold and used up. engin dont seem to burn no oil tho. am lost

ah, there is a mist of diesel or oil on the under side of the bonnet, thort nothing of it really ,looks to have been there years,

er all over in a big patch , as you say its not been dried up with the dust so presumed its off the injectors or somethin, any ideas?
