And bugger all power too..

I'm now on my second 19j engine within a matter of months and this is now on its third turbo. The slightest hill can see me crawling at 30mph and ****ing out black smoke behind me.

After reading some threads here I took the dipstick out and didn't even need to rev her before I noticed she was spitting out oil even when just idling.
There's oil in the breather pipe between the air filter and the turbo, and the rest of the engine bay is pretty much covered, infact it would be quicker to describe what's not covered in oil..

Can someone pleeeease advise me of a few more tests to run that might indicate how I can make this engine last while I save up for a tdi conversion?

Cheers!

take the tube that runs from the oil filler cap and run it into some sort of vented catch can - this will collect the oil, which you can then pour back in when it get's full

Just tried it with a bottle with a decent sized hole in it and the pressure still made it fly off when I revved the engine...
Swapped the bottle for an old bean can, should do the job.

Looks like there's a hell of a lot of backpressure. :(
