Just about to do an interim oil change because not sure how many miles covered since last summer when previous owner changed oil. Because I don't want the hassle of undoing the shield under engine this time I thought I would use an oil extractor pump, has anyone else used one? Apart from being less messy it also means I don't have to stress my already knackered back!
Also forgot to ask, does the early BMW engined 3 litre have an oil extractor outlet in the engine bay or is that just on later models

Well it looks as if I am answering my own question, but I ended up buying a pump of Amazon, turned out to be a brilliant device, enabled me to make the cleanest oil change ever. Thoroughly recommended even if you only use it once a year, but especially useful if you have to change oil on a more regular basis as is the case with all range rover diesels I have come across. (word of caution, DON'T buy the cheapest version which is 60 watt, far better to pay a little extra and get the 80 which has an automatic safety cut off)

Have used a pela pump before, hand operated on other cars but hose isn’t long enough on RR to go from ground pump up to engine then back down the dipstick. Will say suspension on off roads and lean under and crack drain plug doesn’t take long, quite and easy car to service.
