My P38 4.0 seems to use a bit of water. I tend to top it up with a litre every couple hundred miles or so - its got to be leaking somewhere, any usual suspects?

Do these engines tend to burn a bit of oil too? Ive not had it long enough to really work out how much it uses but it does seem to go through it a bit.

ps no overheating issues at all, no water in oil etc etc.

Water. Make sure you are filling to correct level mark and no more. Any excess fill will be ejected giving the impression of water loss.

Oil. All engines burn oil to some degree. About a pint every 1000 miles is around an average for a used engine.

My 4.6 had a small leak coming from near the timing cover. Had a local LR specialist fix it for me. I believe it was just a gasket. I could tell by the pink marks left from the anti-freeze as it dripped down the front of the engine.
