I am new to this forum we have in our business two defenders a 05 reg 110 county and a 08 reg 2.4 110 pickup, i am no mechanic at all but this 08 reg one has started surging on throttle and revving funny we had a garage look at it and it said it was the injectors and replaced two of them at great expense but it is as bad as before,does anyone know of anything like this, a guy who also runs landrovers said a common fault, Also the ignition is now also playing up only firing at a certain point on the key think that is some to do with the immobilizer.
any advice much appreciated
 
Ford tdci....had a Transit tdci and 80,000 miles of lurching, surging, reduced performance when it felt like it, self revving, poor economy, and "software updates". At 80,000 all four injectors "need replacing" said the garage at £250 each.
Got recon ones fitted and sold it.

When they are good they are good, but can empty the wallet after 100,000 miles.
 
Sat in me work transit 11 plate and its surging its nuts off at 58000 has done it since I've had it and don't know a transit that does not do it. Piece of poop
 
Ford engines have issues that Ford don't seem able to sort out.
My Transit Connect had a wierd surge at 2500 rpm that felt almost as if it had been hit from behind.
Ford never sorted it, eventually l just got it chipped so l never needed to rev it past 2500!
And it used so much fuel....barely better than my Defender 110 TD5.
