Doing my O rings but the screw is stuck. I've tried penetrating fluid but the screw won't budge and I don't want to strip the head. Any hints?

Gently tap the screwdriver head with a hammer as you apply pressure to turn it. Replace screw with a Torx or Allen bolt. When you put it back together.

Mine was stuck solid. Had to drill the head off and use a dremmel type tool to get it out. Once the head is off you can get the threaded bit out with mole grips.

A little vale grinding compound on the tip of your screwdriver can sometimes help give you a little more friction - then, as Wammers said, a couple of gentle taps with a mallet can sometimes help as you're applying pressure.

Ok, tried tapping it with a hammer whilst turning, no joy. Looks like I'm going to have to drill it out.

As posted. just drill the head off, then remove remaining bit with Vice grips. If that fails drill the remaining stub out with a 4.0 or 4.2mm (Max) drill and run a M5 tap down to clear the ****e out of the hole. Be sure to get the drill central on the stub.
You could try soaking the remains of the screw with Plus Gas or similar...Forget WD40 etc., it's rubbish at freeing corroded/rusted bolts & nuts.
