Annoyed,

I bought a "new" diff to go in the trialler working on the knowledge /
advice that the diffs were all the same. They aren't.

I stopped off on the way home last night to slip the new diff in and
realised (thankfully when thye next to each other on the gagrage floor
not after I had put it in) that the repalcement one didn't have a
bloody filler plug in it!

So last night I rebuilt the new innards into the old diff carrier, any
idea how to set the correct gear mesh between the crownwheel and the
pinion before I guess!?

It'll have one - either on the "top" of the case and/or on the front
of the diff pan - unless someone has welded a new, filler-less,
pan on one without the case filler.
