Hi everyone, we've had our Td5 for only a few weeks. We bought it to tow our 2T camper trailer on some Down Under adventures.
It came with a TJM bullbar and a LR Safari snorkel. I picked up a 2nd hand 12000lb TJM winch, which is being serviced at the moment before it gets installed.
Before picking up the camper, I had an electric brake controller installed (trailer has 12" electric brakes), together with an Anderson plug so that the camper's batteries can be charged while we're on the move.
Next on the list was a reversing camera to help with backing it up to the trailer, not to mention the safety aspect as we are often called on to mind our young grandchildren. Now I have a 170deg rear view! I must say that it has been a most worthwhile addition to the truck, and worth the faff of installing it.
I've ordered a filter kit so that I can get my hands dirty on some oily work. I must say, the oil filter looks like it will be a challenge! I wrapped a bit of clear plastic tubing around the cartridge a couple of times and by pulling the ends it loosened, so maybe it's not too bad a job after all? I think I'll use the plastic tubing trick to tighten the new one as well when I get to doing the work.
Oh, and I've ordered a remapped ECU from the UK for some more towing grunt.
