Non Starter(Some Times)

Hi all,
I have a 2001 td4 a couple of times it has refused to start,despite turning over faster than Labour returning the money. I have noticed when it does this I dont get the sound from front left of pump priming. Is this a injector pressure pump problem or is it a generic fuel pump on these, many thanks for all answers polite or otherwise.

It's more than likely the low pressure fuel pump (or one of them), your car, being an early Td4 has 2 pumps, one under the bonnet and one in the tank. Give the pump under the bonnet a tap and see if that cures it, usually does!!

Reaches for be big Hammer, thanks for reply, had feeling it had a lift in the tank then one for injection. Love the old girl, been reliable apart from usual failings Sunroof, Window regs and clutch cylinder and they even wave here in Southern Ireland but spares cost twice as much, thank heavens for Paddocks on line.
