Hi all I have a discovery 300tdi that makes a droning noise while under load. The faster I go the louder the noise. Its not wheel bearings or tyres. The noise goes away when you let off the throttle. Any ideas I'm not sure if it's possible diff related

If you can locate the direction of noise, ( front / Rear) then remove the prop shaft in that direction, centre diff lock in and road test, If noise is gone that’s the diff to look at, checking the pinion nut for correct torque but still likely to be diff replacement or rebuild,

Had the same, on rear diff, turned out to be pinion not torqued up. Freeplay, sideways movement, was noticeable once prop was removed. Thought it was going to be bearings. Twasn't, just tightening it up did the trick, (replaced the seal at the same time).
Best of luck.
