Hi all, after owning a brilliant 2013 Freelander 2 XS for a couple of years, i decided (much to the wife's objection) to sell it a get myself an older Discovery 2 TD5 ES with which I can play a bit of offroad while still be able to carry the children to school. Obviously it is a different animal than the freelander, mainly because of the large amount of things which are wrong or not working on it and it is taking most of my saturdays to get them fixed one step at a time.

till now I have done, among other things. the following:
new android stereo with rear camera
2 inch lift
fixed the three amigos
fitted 52" lightbar
fitted a few underside guards
fitted 31" tyres
heavy duty winch bumper
fixed leaking sunroof
fixed sunroof rust

todo in the near future:
replace transfer case with 1:4 with diff lock
fit 30mm wheel spacers
fit tree sliders
repair wobbly gearknob
fit rear work lights
replace electric window winder
repair rattling sunroof
repair passenger seat (lumbar support does not deflate)

so yes, much to do, so you will probably hear a lot from me! :)

Welcome!

I too have just brought a 2004 D2 ES Premium and am slowly working my way through the list. I’m loving having a vehicle I can work on again and modify to my taste.

Have fun and never be afraid to ask here if you’re having problems. I’ve been amazed at how friendly and helpful everyone has been.
