Hello anyone - I recently joined because I bought a '99 Freelander 2.0 l diesel xedi 5 door (non-runner). Can't wait to get her going - my mechanic friend has worked wonders and I now have an overhauled engine working OK, but we have discovered a split in the oil pump - need a new one but that seems to be easier said than done ! Any advice / sources of oil pumps very gratefully received : )

We do have a fuel pump on a.n.other 2.0 l "L" series engine which we got for parts but it doesn't fit ?!?! If we could get the right connecting pipe from it to the turbo on the overhauled engine then it could be a solution... we think ?!

Any help or advice most welcome...

Is it OK to put my mobile number on here as a means of contact by the way ?

put your munber up, that way you will get to find out what nuisance calls are from call centres all over the world:D

your oil pump, try online breakers where you type in what you need and they contact you back e.g.

online breakers - Google Search

and don't forget m8 ,most folks are out at work all day so you won't get a reply straight away, and duplicating your posts will **** people off.

Hello Gegs

thank you sincerely for your reply, and especially advice ! I persisted with calls to breakers and dismantlers all over the country all day and sourced one about 10 mins ago - £40 plus delivery : ) The regular car parts places were all £100 - £180 and had no stock, been on "backorder" for 6 months apparently.

I am really looking forward to my "flander" as they seem to be called getting running next week. Thanks again for the tips re posts and replies.

Cheers Haworth
