Newbie from oxfordshire

Good morning guys and gals, I have a 1986 90 pickup I pulled out of field in Feb, it need new rear cross member and small amount of welding on the offside front chassis leg, the vehicle had been sat for 7 years. I cracked on had it on the road by March and then took it to Holland 800 mile round trip with the 2.5na .
I joined the forum to find more information about converting it to 300tdi I have a donor disco which I was planing on using all of the running gear including axels. Any advice or pointers to information would be great fully received.

I'm also looking to join a club to do a bit of laning.
