Just bought a late td5 90 and got a few questions if any of you can help me?

The battery tray seems to be missing, there is a battery sliding round so obviously need to sort that, but the battery looks very small, is this normal? I am going to fit a winch in the near future, maybe some spotlights etc. will I be better off getting one large battery or 2 batteries connected together?

I have a disco 2 aswel that will be going soon, I bought terra firma diff guards for it a month ago, will they fit the defender?

I have got a decat down pipe for the disco 2, I'm fairly sure they are the same as the discovery 2 part, can you confirm?

Can anybody recommend a winch bumper? I have a warrior 1300 winch, ok not an expensive one but it's worked well when I needed it! Would prefer an OE looking bumper, with recovery points on?

Similarly, will be getting a steering guard, recommendations would be appreciated.

I have purchased some rock & tree sliders, see link, they are very very strong!

Best place to fit cb Ariel? I've got a cb already that had a mag mount, no good for the defender!

Thanks

The other question is the wheels on there are 16 x 7 mods

I've got 265 75 16 tyres to go on there, will they be ok as I'm fairly sure I had them on 16 x 8 on the disco?

Cheers

Hi, I will try to answer some questions, but I am not an expert...

FYI I find that questions get answered better if you do separate threads for each question.

There are normally 2 metal hooks that attach to the grooves in the floor of the battery box, and then attach to the bracket that goes across the battery. Mine had corroded and the ends had come off, so I am on the lookout for some aswell. I think if you are going to have 2 batteries in there, there shouldn't be too much movement in there, as my 1 battery takes up 1/2 the space.

I "think" that both axles on your 90 will be rover ones (or front rover and back salisbury on a 110), I am not sure what the disco has, but the guards should at least fit the front one on the 90.

Not got a winch bumper yet, but I quite like the look of the masai stuff. Masai | Land Rover Defender 90 110 windows and other accessories

They look very similar to some rocksliders I have to go on- very heavy duty stuff!

I think if you do a search on here you will find some CB fitting info. Most people fit them to the gutters I think, but to get a decent signal you need to be connected to the chassis aswell.

Not sure on the wheels!
