Hello everybody...
I just decided to take the plunge into a 2006 Supercharged Range Rover this past weekend. I've always loved these vehicles and just recently sold my winter vehicle (Honda Element) so I picked one up for a pretty good deal with only 104,000 km on it. I absolutely love the ride, the power, and the interior luxury, but I am already feeling twinges of buyers remorse as I slowly discover little things on it that are going wrong.

As I have always been a Honda guy and have built a couple of track prepped vehicles in my garage, I'm not too worried about the mechanical side of things, but the computer on this beast scares the hell out of me!

I have what appears to be some leakage happening in the spare tire compartment. I'm going to have to seal that up (any pointers?), and the aftermarket top mounted Rosen DVD player is crap (the clip holding the screen up is broken and the screen is VELCROED together!), and I have searched high and low but have been unable to find an aux port! (I mean come on, my '03 Element had one of these things!) In addition to this I have a mysterious stereo cord (I think 8mm) coming out from under my center console. It is not to the aux either as the setting doesn't play sound when I plug it into my ipod. (so I guess I'll need to figure out how to take out the center console!) I have a refurb kit on the way for the rear wiper as well as the arm is all rusted up. Also...the tilt on my steering wheel isn't working.

Aside from these hiccups, for a 7 year old vehicle, the interior and exterior are pretty mint (going to have to touch up some rust on the rear wheel wells though).

So aside from what I've mentioned, my first move is probably going to be to contact the dealer to find out if there were any recalls, and to change all of my fluids. I'm not sure if changing fluids will trip any sensors or whatnot, so if there is a guide somewhere, that would be great. I think I'll invest in a FCR, but not until I really need it.

The worst part about this, for me, is that, as the vehicle was imported from Quebec, I have no maintenance records, so I feel like I am going in blind here. Anyhow, it seems that there are a number of these Land Rover sites to navigate, whereas with Hondas, Honda-Tech was pretty much the mother of all sites. I guess the last question is which sites are best for tech advice, and what are the strengths of the other sites?

Anyhow, that's my new ride, in a nutshell.

Cheers!
Leigh
