new windows

A big Hello,

ive not been on the site for a while i forgot how great it is,

iam looking for some new door tops or window carriers for my series 3 as mine are letting in alot of water and are knackered,

does anyone have a pair that i may buy or know anywhere to get them iam in the chelmsford area,

also how the hell do i get the glass out of the old frames i just cannie figure it out.

I've got 2 complete doors, i've just removed, only trouble is i'm in York. Why not have a day trip? Come and see our beeeyoooteeful minster (never been meself) If I can't understand what you're saying, I'll get me missus to translate, she's from down there lol.

evening! i take it you windows dont fall out when you slam the doors then?? some cunning levering with a couple of screw drivers got mine out but they were lose to beging with (the slidy bits would come out when going round roundabouts.......)

to remove the glass from the door tops you have to undo the little screws in the runners, which are buried in the felt of the runners, the runners are made off ally and if memory is correct i think there are four screws in each runner and you will need a small flat head scew driver have fun, regards jim

If you are only replacing the glass, you only need to take out the top channel. Try slotted screwdrivers and pointy ones - somebody may have done it before - guaranteed you might have a mix - nothing is ever straight forward on a landy. If the screws are tight try tapping the screwdriver with a hammer. Don't hit too hard though as it may go through. If that fails try using thin chisel or blade between the frame and window channel.
