Hi.
Not exactly new to the site but first post as I have not been in the position to but a Landrover.
I currently own a Discovery 3 HSE 2008 in Stornaway Grey 140k, but my first love is the 110defender.
I am getting to the age where I feel confident enough to ask my wife for more pocket money and the car I want the 110.
I have explained about the versatility, space inside, towablility etc but she comes back with how old ! Interior doesn't look comfy all the usual stuff, I told her seats can be changed but she replied why buy a car then change the seats ! At this point I thought better of having a word with the wife, she got to use all of hers but mine are still in my head.
I have however decided without her knowing that when the Discovery sells I will take her to look at a nice 110 and take one for a drive hopefully this will change her mind.
I hope to gleam some good excuses from the site for buying a 110.
I do like the Discovery but am fed up of worrying about scratches to the bodywork and only having a small boot space to fit the littleuns bike in ( previous vehicle Kia Sedona mk2 has massive boot, still got her it in my mates garage, it's called Griswold ).
Anyway I live in the garden county called Lancashire, I am a police officer in Manchester, I ride motorcycles as a hobby and for getting to work and we have a caravan for holidays, ( taking it to France this year ).

Thanks for taking the time to view this post.

Hi Gus110,

Welcome to the Loonyzone..........

What spec 110 you looking at? body style? , As I cannot see a 110 truck cab fulfilling your needs...LOL.
How much is your budget?

Cheers

Hi.
Probably not a bit too agricultural looking for the wife, showed her a nice 2004 in Grey on eBay and she actually said it looked nice ! I am looking for the TD5 air con if poss just for France budget is going to be around £10k but can go higher for the right one. ideally I would like to swap the D3 for one saves the hassle from the wife.

Defenders are definitely an acquired taste and don't drive as good as they look.
I love mine to bits but aren't blind to its downfalls.
Try and get a long test drive first in the model you like?
90 or 110??.
