but a man who is seen a lot on land-rover show's,
i am arjan wilbie,
i drive a:
109s2a diesel 1965
109s2a petrol 1962
101fc ambulance 1982
88LW ex dutch army 1978
and a "normal italian car"
i am a member of the 101 club, and proud of the pictures on Mr Bailey's
site (p'boro 2005)

i also have a question about my 88lw,
i am building a 2.5 turbo in to the lw,
(a self rebuild unit) and does anyone have a manual of where to put
what of the hoses and electrics?
i am also looking for a front salisbury axle, armourd vehicles have one
( serie's 3) and is the Dodge w200 the same? (it's a dana 60 but i have
my doubts...)

is there a bigger nut than me?
owning a 101fc convert it in a camper ( it was stripped when bought)
and this summer going to rebuild the back as an original ambulance,
replace the brackets and... fitting the overdrive.
if i manage to get it road legal with a 6.2 gmc , can i drive the same
tires you have got?
already bought half of the stuff needed
collecting it at driffield.
and, if possible, i want to write about the concersion, and make some
pictures for the six stud.
and if some one stil have not seen me,
i have some pictures of me, and the police called me a nut... and
officialy got a document to proof it

one side of the road was salted, so i could drive carefull,
a man in front of me hit the brakes, i reacted and moved one lane, it
was one sheet of ice,
got in a spin, the shoulder was soft, one wheel dug in deep en there i
went.
no seatbelts, battery box lid was loose, nearly got hit by it, had
hub's in the back, with the drumbrakes on them, they went trough the
soft top and i was unharmed ( i know i was lucky)
the police came, asked me questions like "how fast where you driving" i
told him i was looking at the road, not on the speedo.
i did not dare telling him the cable broke down on me.
the asked what they could do for me,
i asked them, you have got a camera? would you mind to take some
pictures for me?
so he did, and he e-maild them to me.
i drove on mud's maybe that is bad and i should have other tire's
fitted for legal purposes....
that is why i crashed on the shoulder, not to crash in the back of some
one else.
the man who hit the brakes, i did not know who he was, he drove away,
not looking if i was alright.
i got my poor 88LW back on the wheels,
and the towtruck man wanted to get me home, and smiled when i told him
i was going to drive home on my own.
damage:
mirror, mirror arm, wing got dented, arches broke, and the body part
behind the door is folded around the outrigger.and the softtop is
wasted.

maybe the engine got some damage aswel,
it was fitted with a 2.5Normal / Asfyxiated, and at the day we left for
billings, a bearing of the drife shaft failed.


now i am going to make something nice of the little radio wagon.
going to fit 900x16 tires,
fit a restored (did it myself) 2.5 td,
freewheeling hubs,
custom build a exaust (even the part on the turbo shell...it's a lhd so
the steering arm is in the way)
fit intercooler and put the oil cooler back in.
also making it a hardtop.
and i plan to come to driffield with it,
so engine and the coolers have priotity ( and building a smal trailer (
sankey's are illegal in holland)
is there going to be more of this group that are comming over to the
show?
and i am giong to take some extra cases of grolsch for "my own
use"(last event at p'boro i had 20 cases of beer, claimed to be a
alcoholic, and it was just for the weekend....)
wil trade for good parts.(serie's parts)

So you bought it stripped, did the camper conversion yourself and now
you are ripping it all out again and putting it back as an ambi?
why? wouldnt it be easier to start with an original non-converted
ambulance as i'd have thought it would be quite hard to get it fully
original? - and if it is not original then what is the point of having
it as an ambulance (unless you just need or want an ambulance!)

of questionable things to vehicles myself!

I've got some ex-ambulance bits going spare if you want them - but its
a bit of way to travel here to get them!

I think Martyn had his fancy wheels on back when he still had a 3.5
and i'm sure he told me once that he could get it up to 90, so it
should shift alright with a 6.2!!

He's Dutch. The English need something of a paradigm shift in order

They come over a couple of times a year, Driffield and Peterborough
are the best times to catch them. They are totally bonkers and well
worth spending time with.

Arjan has the wheels that I had made for Grumble and Andys truck.
Andy sold the truck to Kay, Kay sold the wheels to Arjan. A 6.2 GM
diesel will produce the same top speed as the 3.5 actually, but
running the risk of ripping the transmission to bits (one reason why
Dave Owen, who also has the GM V8 6.2 won't let anyone else drive it).

Speed is not the issue, the pure grunt and pulling power is there when
you need it to yank a jeep out of the sticky but you'll not leave the
hot hatches at the traffic lights.

I made 89.4mph on the GPS - prolly could have gone further but I may
very well have shat myself...
