My 3.5V8 110 wouldn't start on saturday, called our breakdown service who got the car started however the starter motor started making very loud noises,
on sunday tried to start the car for around 5 or so minutes, the positive battery cable got really hot and started smoking.
Now I've replaced the starter motor started the car once and now i have no igniton lights, the clock has stopped no electrical power at all.

I have ordered new battery cable,
Can anyone help Please

thanks Mark

Check the starter +ve and engine earth connections first, then the fuses. What happened when you tried to start it for 5 mins - was it turning over for 5 minutes? - that may have cooked something.
If you have a multimeter/test lamp, I'd be looking for voltage at the fuse panel positive side. If nothing there, there is a main battery connection problem - or a battery fault.
