new puel pump then no start

( 98 disco 2 )after a few weeks of a noisy fuel pump i finally fitted a new one,i put the keys in the ignition and when i turn the alarm sounds tried waiting for tten mins same again this never hapenned before the changeover so i wired the old pump up. alarm sounds, the fob is opening the doors an ive never had the battery off,any ideas before i need to attach a tow rope to the wrong end of my disco

Try locking the doors with the fob, then use the key to unlock without physically opening a door, then use the fob to lock and then unlock the doors, open the door and see what happens !
