Hi all
I am new to this site and thought I would share the story so far from owning a disco 2
I brought it from a garage the end of Feb, 02 plate 98000 miles full MOT and serviced and all seemed fine until a few days from getting it home. The first thing was the brakes wrapped front discs had them changed only to be told the backs where the same and also a broken front suspension spring which I haven't done yet.
The next thing was when im on my way home 3 weeks ago the engine packed up the cause was a shattered piston which resulted in having to have a recon engine in, all seems fine apart from it struggles to start when cold and the thermostat gauge stopped working.
Then the last thing was yesterday in the heavy rain the sunroof decides to leak. Think I have brought the biggest pile of **** around.
Let's hope when its all done it will be like a new car

it may help ...

Thanks dippypud for that link I was going to try going down that route but was told I wouldn't get anywhere as the garage had put that the car had not been through there work shop, which apparently covers them

It does not cover them. A trade seller is liable for 6 months and up to 6 years in some cases. The vehicle has to be fit for purpose or merchantable quality. It's up to them whether they take the trouble to check a car before they sell it, it has no effect on their liability.
