New member SAT NAV help Please

Hello. I am new to the group. I have just bought a Freelander 2 2009 HSE model.
The sat Nav works fine but I cannot get any sound from it !! The radio/CD work fine. I have checked all the settings but still no voice directions. When I press the last voice message on the sat nav there is a beep but that is it. Any advice would be really appreicated as the Sat Nav is useless without sound. Thank you so much.

Does it have sound? I ask as I am not sure if my D3 does.

Radio/CD/Bluetooth fine. Nothing from sat nav expect if I press last command and it bleeps.

When the sat nav is talking you can turn the sound up/down and that will change the sav nav volume. Is it turned down?
