new member please be gentle

hi all im currently looking to buy my first landrover and just wanted to see if there is anything to watch for when buying
im not sure which model yet but i do like the new shape discos around the 03 04 reg
are these the td v6 2.7 ltr
price wise £10.000 absolute tops would prefer to spend less but that puts me in a td 5
ive seen a few local to me
1 04 i think td v6 @ £9000
cloth interia and a few marks on paint
2 02 td5 £4750
cloth interia and starting to show its age inside
both show around the 110000 miles mark
will need to tow my van ( baily senater twin axle ) and be good on fuel for work and back
any help full hints and tips welcome

ps just to cheer you all up im swaping to landrover from a toyota landcruiser that ive just sold nice truck but heavy on juice ( low 20s at best and low teens with the van on

Buy a disco 3 it's the best engine by far and every thing that follows. Do you want to go off road? Disco 3 for 8k onwards

i do like the looks of the disco 3 if thats what its called what sort of mpg can i expect from it to work and back ( all local b roads ) and what about with the van on its a twin wheel baily senator
are there any things to watch out for ie any known common faults
