Hi all,

I am new to this sort of thing and am looking for help with a starting problem I have with my 52 plate TD4 Freelander!

I have read threads here that appear to be similar but I'm not sure if mine is.

It doesn't matter if its hot or cold, thats weather or engine, wether the engines been running for 5 mins, 5 hours or first start in the morning, when strarting it just turns over and over and may finally catch if not when i try and turn it over again it may catch straight away or after 5secs, 10secs or what ever, it may not catch again. However at the moment it will eventually start. ( it appears to be getting worse since the weather turned colder.

In other 'Problem Starting' threads it mentioned possibilities like fuel pump, cam sensor. I have changed both of these (at no cost)and fitted a new filter. (pump and filter are above the rear wheel arch) problem still exists.

I have also had instance of the engine managment light coming on when i go round a slow corner in too higher gear, I loose some power and the engine is not getting over 3000revs, until I stop and restart the engine to clear the light then all is ok again. I have connected to a freinds universal test machine and a fault p1190 high fuel pressure plausibility was displayed. No previous faults existed.

I dont know if they are related.

The car has done 60k miles, serviced regularly, on a 52 plate (nov 02)

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Sorry for the war and peace, but I spose the more info you get the better!

cheers
Dean
