My dads just picked up a L322. Im stuck with the job of teaching him how to use everything, and answering any questions regarding stuff. He had a P38, a disco and a few classics previousl so fine is with the oily bits but the electronics are a bit above and beyond.

Its a TD6 Vogue on and 05 with the facelift front/satnav etc. I think with it being an 05 its a bit of a changeover year and has a few odd bits on it. We had the same issue with the P38 having twin exhausts but orange indicators etc.

Firstly I read that they came with bluetooth stereo as standard on the new touchscreen satnav. However when i press the phone button it says not installed.. in the top tray on the arm rest its got the fitting for plugging in a phone. Can this be upgraded to bluetooth? ive only seen kits for the earlier BMW system.

Second, can you get fob repair kits? It came with 1 key and the rubber button is totally knackered. We will be buying a new key for it but would like to keep the old one as a spare (hopefully the programming guide i found on here works on the later l322s!!!).

Third, where can i get the heater remote from.. the one that should come with the car is missing (car was a repo). I can get trade prices at RR main stealer but is there a good breaker you guys use etc as i imagine its a fortune to buy new. (It does have the oil burner fitted though since there is the option to set heater start times on the screen). Would be interested to here of any good non dealer places since we need the following

- key fob
- heater remote
- front n/s fog
- few bits of interior trim since they're worn (pass side front window switch panel)
- possibly tow bar (removable one) if it can be had for a sensible price
- new shape side vents/grill

And finally... venture cam?? what were they thinking?! Why not a useful extra - like a roof mounted laser cannon to shoot at sales reps in their x5's on the mobile phone

Yeah, tell me about it. I want a car that auto dips its mirrors when put in reverse now!!

Wasnt a bad deal either. £16500 with 98k on the clock. 6 years of savings emptied out in one go lol

Trouble is, its so new that there isn't much aftermarket stuff about yet like there is for P38s. And when vehicles are repo'ed there is sometimes a bit of vengeful behaviour in sabotaging bits and pieces from the person losing the car to the bailiffs....however, as its so relatively new still, probably best to buy the bits from a dealer - after all, you seemed to pay well under the going price for such a new model, spend a bit to get it absolutely 100%. Not much DIY going on with these vehicles yet, I don't think.
